i've been lurking here and there for awhile and decided to take the plunge and join up. i LOVE MY MINI here in san diego. a rare, SOLID GOLD beauty, just trucked in from back east.

Welcome. It seems that someone likes the solid gold, when I went to Tom Bush MINI to order my MCS 3 weeks ago they wanted to cut me a deal on a solid gold MC because they had 9 on the lot that hadnt moved in a while. Enjoy your new ride, I still have to wait about 3 more weeks!
It does look nice though, but I wouldnt buy it.

There was an earlier thread dissing the solid gold. I asked my MA about it and he said that the sample doesn't do the car justice. I agree. Yours looks to me to be a beauty. Congratulations a a cool Mini and welcome to the forums.

I read a couple of threads that discussed the new gold color. Many didn't like it for one reason or another. Then I finally made a trip to the dealer where they had about 20 or so MINI's sitting around. The gold one on the showroom floor was easily one of the prettiest ones there.

thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! here is another pic of the solid goldy. i have just a few mods planned, otherwise want to keep it bone stock. black limo tint for the back windows and the stock wheels chromed. probably an armrest and perhaps a sunroof wind deflector too, now that i think of it - time to earn some frequent flyer miles on the credit card!
one quick question. everything seems good about this vehicle except the power steering pump seems to be louder than expected. is this the same for all minis?
