TheWolfe Island Canada MINI Meet was a MINIamazing successes!

We loaded 50 MINIs on the Wolfe Islander car ferry (basically controlling the boat!), made it to the front page of The Whig Standard newspaper, and dented no fenders at Shannonville Motorsports Park! We went home a little lighter on the rubber though!

MINI lore and Wolfe Island lore was made all in one fell swoop, by MINIacs from 4 States and 3 Provinces. Perfect beyond expectation!

Pictures and an event gallery coming soon. Thousands of pictures were taken. It was quite unbelievable.

Every MINI and it's occupants said they're coming back for the '04 version. We'll be capping at 80 MINIs, so watch for the registration announcement. You won't want to miss it!

The newspaper article called it the car for middle aged yuppies, and that a base MCS starts at $29,000.

Less rubber no doubt-like a 100 pounds of it left on the track or up in smoke and heat.
We are on an island already so no need to pack up into a ferry but that is fun in and of itself esp with ALL MINIs along for the ride.

Sounds great- post some pics here and add the rest to the events gallery for us- thanks much.

I wonder how long it would take to float my MINI over to you for that event? Oh yeah, MINIs don't float in water above 12 inches. Oh well.

The first couple of photos have appearedon the Wolfe Island Canada MINI Meet front page.

You can also download the article from the Kingston Whig Standard on the site. The print version had a full shot of the 50 MINIs in the lineup at the boat dock! The Waterdown Daily News (New York) also ran a full article and picture. We're awaiting the arrival of that paper from their courtesy desk.

Grassroots initiative all the way! Man, what a success!

And thanks again to our many local and out of town volunteers. You guys ROCK!

As Antsmini points out, the writer claims they are mostly driven by middle-aged yuppies and that Copper S model pricing "starts at more than $29,000.

That's great news for me. I thought I was old for one but I'm right in there. Since I am not economically a yuppie, it is good to learn that Chicagoland prices are such a bargain. I'll have to ask my dealer how they stay in business losing so much money on each sale.

No! Stop presses! I take it back. I think they are thinking Canadian dollars. Never mind.
