>>---> chitown, you mention Squarepusher and Air in the same sentance, woah dude, that's gotta be fascinating
>>(aka, mixing psychotic acid jazz with chill ambient)

Actually the squarepusher track is not in his "normal" style. It's very short and very downbeat...probably one of the most chill tracks on the whole album!

Well I wouldn't call myself hip except for the fact that I own a MINI.

My favorite band is Led-Zeppelin. The other stuff is what I listen to when I'm not listening to Led-Zeppelin.

When I was in England I went to Jimmy Page's House.

Ronvan-- I liked the trip to JP's house... until the cat... don't much care for cats... really dislike them, actually... I guess it's a dog thing.

Um, excuse me, but when did you raid MY music collection?

For the past couple days I have had "Tales From Yesterday", a tribute album of Yes covers done by groups like Cairo, Stanley Snail, Annie Haslam, Enchant and Yes alumni Steve Howe and Patrick Moraz spinning. Very good stuff. Enchant's new CD "Tug Of War" is currently enjoying long-term parking rights in the changer along with some Tull, Evanescence and a few mix CDs of my crazy tastes. I also have my Archos Jukebox crammed with enough music for a cross country trip and back without hearing the same song twice. It's due for a load of fresh stuff though.

MINI progheadz represent!

as partial as i am to hearing a great Anita Bryant spiritual (just kill me now!!) as i'm cruising Gulf Blvd here in sunny St Pete Beach, one of my favorites is always "I Can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar, just try to keep your foot off the gas when you hear that song!

anything by the B-52's
Pat Benetar's "Best Shots" (she even makes a gay man horny!)
anything EVER from the Pet Shop Boys (they make that HK system beg for mercy)
and especially "Fernando" by ABBA, played loud enough to annoy the thumpster next to me at a light!

The Latest and Greatest that is getting a workout from the iPod in Trinity would be the soundtrack from The Animatrix. Some really cool driving music. Dark highway, full moon in front of you, whine of the super charger....It's all good

Just try not going way over the limit while listening to "Orange Blossom Special" by the Hellecasters. Guar-un-teed to get you flying, especially if you are a guitarhead like me.

I put lots and lots of thought into what would be the first tune in when I picked up my Mini 10 days ago. I finally chose one that went with the retro: a tune called Stroll On (alternate version is The Train Kept a Rollin) from seminal 60s Brit rockers the Yardbirds. They alternately had guitarists Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck. Beck shows some good roots of metal on this tune.

But most anything works and I like lots that have been listed (with the exeption of Anita Bryant: a desperate cry for help in St. Pete? ). James Brown's Sex Machine was a cool one I hadn't thought of.

An addition to The Who list: Happy Jack.

Anything by the New Hope, PA supergroup, "Ween."

Currently, their latest release, "quebec" is filling up my MINI with tons of aural pleasure eminating from the Harman Kardon system.

Also, their essential album, White Pepper. And Chocolate & Cheese. The entire Ween catalog for that matter!

Rock On,

-Joe

Toby Keith is country, albeit new country, but with Willie Nelson along on "Beer for my Horses" it covers old and new country !

FINS!!! Oh, yeah... I'm a Parrothead. We attend his revival every summer. Wanted to take the MCS this summer to the big party, but not room enough for the whole gang. I do a fair amount of business with Corona and they take VERY good care of me and my friends! The parrothead attitude is very close to the Mini attitude... you agree?
