I'm not sure if anyone has already posted this. Sorry if it's a repeat.

Seems to me that this is the kind of control over the MINI trademark that BMW is looking for. The commercial kind. Hmmm, Puma is a German shoe manufacturer.

I saw these this weekend in a Barney's in Miami. They looked interesting, but not for me. Mini's commercialism is starting to get to me a little...

Like most corporations, the objective of MINI is not to make cars, it is to make MONEY.

You guys should check Gabes site - Gabes MINI site

He's usually on top of all MINI news like this.

MINI - cool, trendy car
Puma - hip, sneaker company on rebound

makes good sense to go after the MINI demographic - people spend cash on various performance mods, why not lifestyle items?

Just a note,
PUMA thrives and survives on Product Placement.
They GIVE $$$$$ worth of Merchandise to the Entertainment Media for Product Placement. When they offer their shoes and merchandise, they make exclusive contracts with the production companies. AND are first to jump at the opportunity.
Mind you, this is not a bad thing. This is why MINI and Puma are together. Mini Approached them and they Responded first and with the best offer. It's more advantageous to Puma though, wouldn't you agree? We are now more "aware" of Puma. Puma's consumer base is not more aware of the Mini though.

And I think they could have made a better shoe for the Mini Crowd. That THING is Ugly! And It seems very.... pointless. If they just made a shoe that followed the trend of their current line or even a specially designed speedcat, it'd be on my feet right now.
