So I had some service done at the dealer on my MINI; however, when I got home I noticed the invoice had the wrong mileage. Apparently, when my Service Advisor turned the key on to read the odometer, he logged the Service Interval reading instead.
The invoice is off by 578 more miles. Is that a big deal?

 

-thats odd, mini/bmw dealerships actually have key readers where they insert you key in the reader on their desk and it tells them what your vin number is, other car info, and milage. Not sure if that is specific to only certain dealerships, but I thought it was a really cool gadget.

If my dealership had such a gadget, I didn't see him use it. I think my Service Advisor was new. I never have seen him at the dealership before and when I asked a couple of simple technical questions, well, he didn't really answer them. Really nice guy and working hard, just seemed a bit scattered.
Upon arrival, I remembered him turning the ignition key, looking at the spedometer, then writing something on his clipboard.

I'd hate to trek down there and bother them to correct the records, so that's why I'm asking...Is this too trivial for me & them to be bothered with?

 

Wouldn't CALLING him first before going there be the next logical step?

IMO its pretty trivial. when i worked at acura, the dumb service advisors did this all the time. i think it matters if u are doing a 60K service..and they write 80K..but if they off by few hundred, its no big deal
