Airbag...

The light is on, and its in Halifax BMW as we speak.

They are unsure if its the wiring, or the airbag itself.

The estimated cost of the wiring is going to run about $350.00 .

The bag itself is anywheres between $375 and up.

I could have sworen that the this is a common occurence and bmw would make good with it...now what have your past experiences been in regards to this whole airbag issue?

Is this too much for what they are charging or whats the deal here?

What year is your MINI? For the earlier MINIs (not sure what years) BMW extended the warranty for the Airbag Safety Restraint System for 10 years / 150,000 miles. Perhaps your service advisor is not aware of this.

I recently had quite a bit of work done on my '02 MINI with 140K+ on the odo, including replacement of the SRS wiring harness, seat belt connectors, etc., all at no cost to me as it was covered under warranty.
