I just finished putting a new hood on my 2004 MCS. The hood/hatch open light is on. I've sprayed contact cleaner in the hood micro switch, slammed the hood, un-plugged it, nothing is making the light go out. Can it be dissabled? I would think unplugging the switch would break the circuit. Could it be the hatch? Same questions apply there. I tried to find info in the Service Manual but no luck.

 

Might want to try adjusting it a few times. It may latch, but the light can come on, I've done it a few times. If that doesn't work, the contact switch may be bent.

 

I've pulled the switch itself from the latch. I've tried manually operating it to see if I can get the light to go off....nothing.

 

hmm more than likely the hatch or a bad switch then
