Sorry it was a comment you could not understand.....duh. Yes it is probably unlikely that she could beat an entire continent off the block. I just figured a figure of speech would be understood by all you guys and your "big fish" stories.

Also the Focus didn't even come near the MINI in NHTSA crash test. On the 5 mph bumper test cars were tested "Rear into Flat Barrier" and "Rear into Pole." In the first crash category, MINI's damage repair cost was $223, Focus cost was $1,338. In the second crash category, MINI's cost was $639, Focus cost was $1,033.

Nuff sed.

The r32 is super sweet, saw it early last year... Neuspeed had it... It's a MONSTER
The GTI turbo is very sweet.... and when gunned... whoosh
A buddy of mine had one, it was a faaaaaaaaaaaast little car. and it was stock. it jumped like an illegal in a border patrol spotlight.

The R32 CRAMS its guts under the hood... very clean and great use of space!

Hey, Illegal aliens will be able to aquire State Issued Driver's licenses soon... I am opposed to that.

I had a 1998 Wrangler TOTALLED after 6 months of ownership, by a working illegal. He had no insurance and fled to South America by all traces and investigations.

Uhh, well, Zgokart, I don't lend much credence to those tests.

We conducted our own test under not so scientific conditions and the cost of a Mini rear bumper after a 5 mph crash with a tractor trailer is more like $1100 ($1800 if you've damaged the liftgate)... don't ask how I know this your results may vary

Sports Car International had a comparison in the 2002 (Nov??) issue of Civic Si, VW GTI (1.8 T), Focus SVT and MCS, and they placed in that order (MCS top).
Good comparison test that also showed that SVT and MCS were basically neck-to-neck and placement is really a matter of preference in terms of what test criteria are important to you. The SVT is a very good car, and for many folks more bang for the buck than the MINI. The GTI probably has the sweetest engine out there (1.8 T), but handles comfortably like a hog. The R32 would be hands down a test winner, but then costs well in excess of $30k, so about 10k or 50% MORE than the MCS. A better comparison would be a JCW MCS vs R32, and even then the R32 has lost of advantages, AWD, etc..
Personally, I don't like the R32 that much: too heavy, and I think the 1.8T is a better and more frugal engine. The R32 gets poor mileage and is too heavy. It is a great car, but for less than the money of an R32 I would buy a JCW MCS any day.
My 2c.

The SEAT looks much like a VW Corrado. Don't think the Corrado is made anymore.

SEAT is a VW division of cars made in Spain. They are essentially lower priced VW's with Spanish heritage. I have seen them in Europe and think they look better than your typical bread and butter German issue VW's.

VW group has yet another car division called SKODA which is based in the Czech republic. They are pretty much like the Seats, very nice cars indeed. The Skoda Fabia comes to mind.

Seat and Skoda at some point used to be independent car companies but VW/Audi group acquired them over the years. Seat and Skoda are very popular nameplates in Europe, Africa, Latin America and most of the rest of the world. I don't think neither has ever been offered in North American soil.

acutally markus..most people spend 25K on their MCS
not me.. but most people on this site has spend about that much

but ur right jcw vs r32 would be better..but in that case the mcs would still get creamed even with the jcw package
