R50/53 Lower Adirondack road trip - WOW!!
Just wanted to relate the fun and excitement I had yesterday on a "Mini" roadtrip through the lower Adirondacks in my '03 MCS. Everywhere I went the car turned heads and everywhere I stopped people were eager with questions about the car. I'm still under the 1200-mile break-in limit so I had to take it easy. However, I still had a blast under 4500. What handling!! It's as if the car is magnetized to the road. What steering response!! More than enough speed. And what fun it was blowing by Miatas. Mine was the only Mini out there! Where are all the others? My only concern is the skipping while accelerating in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears. Keeler Mini will have to deal with that at the initial service inerval. Do any of you have a similar experience? So today I'm off to Ithaca for lunch and Geneva for dinner by the lake. Gotta' hit the road!! Now get out there!
Wahoo!! That sounds like a blast! A few dubbies and I are planning a run to S. Carolina in the spring. We are supposed to be getting a list of roads to look for from a friend. The roads are very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway all the twisties with no patrol cars waiting for you.
I want to go now after reading your post.
