Picked up my Velvet Red beauty today. This is an amazing car. i've enjoyed it more in the first one hundred miles than the entire year i had my Passat. Got to wave to my first MINI driver in town. Got an itty bitty indentation in the hood from my father attempting to get the bonnet/boot open light to go off. ( i don't mind too much...). And at the local convience store had this conversation, "What's that?" asked the clerk. "PT Cruiser," said some guy buying milk. "A what?" wondered the confused clerk. "PT Cruiser," he reiderated.
"Oh, cute little car."

Me: "NO, it's not a PT Cruiser. It's a MINI Cooper."
Clerk: "A what?"
Me: "MINI Cooper"
Clerk: "Oh, who makes it?"
ME: "MINI," muttered, "owned by BMW"
Clerk: "Yah, but who makes it."
Another clerk with a klew, "That's the brand, MINI."
Clerk: "Oh, yah that's a cute little car."
Guy with milk: "Expensive car that one is..."

LOL... i think i can expect to have many of these conversations as i come from a very small town, with very "special" people.

The unfortunate part, the digital camera i brought to document my joy decided not to work and that's the only one within my reach right now... so i'll have to learn to post pics later. i have the honor of being the second to last Velvet Red shipped to MA. (someone snuck in after me)

Also, got to see the truck unload with another shipment of cars as we were at the dealer when it opened. That was nifty.

Tomorrow i'm going to call my insurence co. to make sure i have zero deduct. on my windshield.

thanx to everyone for all the info available on this site. Don't think i would've bought one if it wasn't for MCO.

'03 VR/B, Cloth, Crome inserts, Xenons, H/K, all three packs (induldge much?)
