Need a quick answer

Going to look at another 2002 MCS.

It doesn’t have the Premium Package or Sport Package.

Automative.com lists the Sport as having these options.

Sport Package/S - $1,250
Pin stripe exterior decoration; Includes: [210] Dynamic Stability Control And [520] Fog Lamps And [522] Xenon Headlamps (includes Power Washers); Requires: [369] 17" S-Lite Alloy Wheels/Perf Run-Flats; Or [586] 17" Styling 85 Alloy Wheels/AS Run-Flats And [327] Bonnet Stripes White; Or [329] Bonnet Stripes Black.

It has the 17" S-Lite wheels but the sport package on the S doesn’t seem to be related to handling.

Can someone confirm this for me, PLEASE… Is there anything missing from the list???

u r correct

on the 02 S the sport package was as you described. only thing performance related was the DSC vs ASC and maybe the 17's.

btw many hard core folks poo poo'd both the DSC and the 17's

DSC was/is thought to 'take over' too soon, and the s-lites are pretty heavy.

On the other hand if you drive an 02 S (that hasn't been beaten up, or modded all to ...) and compare it to a similarly un-modded S of later years (with the same wheel/tires) you'll find the 02 suspension to be quite a bit stiffer than later years. They started softening things fast due to consumer complaints of the ride being too hard.
