The 'click' sound

Has anyone had the click sound and correctly diagnosed what it was? This seems to be too common and too mysterious with no real info as to the cause.

The "Click" Sound

Are you talking about the "click, click. click" you get when slowing down? I get the same thing but on;y when applying the brakes. I need to have it looked at, but just haven't had time.

No, it has been discussed here what seems forever, the click, usually just one click, like two pool ***** hitting each other when you first move the car, sounds like a CV joint, but it is not constant nor repeatable. A lot of people have it and talk about it, just no one has ever posted that they ever found what it was.

Some think it is a loose axle nut, or hub spline.

Or the CVjoint,

Or in the transmission

Or in the LSD

Or the flywheel.

It is not the brakes

thanks

Might be worth checking the hub tq's, I know one guy that had the click on weight shift and it was overtightened (as determined by the dealer while doing other brake work.

I had the problem and it was correctly diagnosed as a loose axle nut (thats helpful...).

I was able to figure out a way to repeat my clicking as much as a I wanted though. Basically you put it into first and rev the engine a bit whilst letting the clutch out (basically doing a hard launch but without the actual launch). Then you do the same thing again except in reverse, when you do it in reverse you get the click. You can also do it in reverse order so it does it while going forward.
