My mums Saturn is 11 years old. She has routinely run it VERY low on oil, it's driven me from Pittsburgh to New York, Connecticut and Virginia more times than I care to count and she's never had a single major problem. Are they cheap cars? emphatically yes. Will the rattles drive you insane? Emphatically yes. Does it get 45 miles per gallon, highway? Routinely yes. Are they crap? Not in a million years, based on my experience.

And for a car that went 10+ years without a total redesign, I think her SC still looks pretty good--waxes up beautifully.

 

I like the Saturns overall. They seem reliable, I love the idea you can't dent them. I wish the Mini had this. Some are ugly though.
