R50/53 question for the detailing 'gods'
question for the detailing 'gods'
ok here goes and i HOPE i am not repeating another exact thread. I have quite a bit of experience in detailing cars from the show wining mustang i used to own. Herman, my cooper, is pure silver and has a few "sort of" swirl marks.
1st question, i have already clayed the car, did a coat of swirl remover, followed by a coat of show car glaze (basically a pure polish) then a coat of wax. i am using the syntheti wax instead of pure carnuba due to the fact of the light colour i found that carnuba, while it looks deeper, doesnt give the shine as a synthetic oes and with the silver color, doesnt show the depth as well to begin with. My problem is after i apply the wax, you can see, ever so slightly, a few lines almost like swirl marks. I dont see them before i apply the wax and different types dont matter. Should i start all over with a more abrasive cleaner ( like a fine cut ) then swirl, then polish, then wax again? ( please give any suggestions in the Mothers brand type
2nd question - my old buffer is about to take a crap, dont care about brand name but wondered what you recomend in the way of features to look for in a new one (speed / direction / size / etc)
Ok anyone who has actually read this whole novel will probably be able to help
have some popcorn as a break first
THANX
