If Autozone is more convenient, they have 22 inch Valucraft wiper blades (black and yellow packaging) that worked for me. I pulled out the rubber part and cut in half---2 replacements for $3.50 each. They are a bit tighter than oem but using two hands to guide the blade in worked.

(I have a sept '03 build with the plastic holder.)

trico makes a rear blade for the special rear arm. they're called exact fit rear integral blades. About $10 online. Google it.

What's the "special" rear arm?

Probably the whole plastic thing, unlike some cars where it is a regular wiper arm to be replaced.

Just did this myself. Fit just fine after cutting to the proper length. My 04 MCS (Nov 03 build date) has the plastic arm.

Help with 2006 Wiper Refill

Hi, can anyone give me some advice which retail REAR wiper refill will fit a 2006 base model? Width is the only thing that is important, I can trim the length to fit. I think most of the ones mentioned in this thread are for other years, the 2006 is a different width for some strange reason. I don't want to buy the whole replacement blade which is about $20. Thanks, Tom

Xymox! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Being the new owner of a 2003 Mini Cooper S, I was going to go out and spend $29 on a new wiper assembly. I "Googled" the info on assemblies...and that led me to this forum. North American Motoring, and this thread...
Owe ya a "cocktail" for the savings!

The Valucraft blade worked perfectly for my 02 MCS. I bought a 24 inch blade ($8) and cut the rubber part in half so I have a spare. Thanks!

I have an 04MCS,11/03 build. My original wiper had two metal splines in the blade. When I lost spring tension in the arm, the replacement arm&blade were different. The new wiper blade has a single plastic spline. So, there are two styles out there depending on prod-date or replacement date. Hope this help's.

FWIW. Amazon sells Valeo R-10A Rear Wiper Blade and it fits perfectly. Total install including removal is about 1 minute. 12.00. So, its relatively pricey.

Just make sure if you do get the rear wiper blade w/ insert for R50 / R53 models there is a split year in 7/2004. We have the single blades inserts for the pre 7/2004 production, they did not make them for the post 7/2004, its the wiper w/ the insert blade:

Go to the bottom of the page and you will find the wiper section for the hatch models.

Sort of related..

Is there a nozzle to direct the spray of washer fluid on the arm? When I spray washer fluid from the rear it just sprays upwards and nowhere near or towards the glass.

thanks

Sounds like the nozzle is clogged a bit or deflecting the spray in the wrong area.

The nozzle sets in the wiper motor assembly and you can see it on the end. Try to clean it with a pin first and see if you can redirect the spray patter to the window.

Also make sure the end is not damaged.

Thanks and good luck.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread here, but I thought I'd see if there was an update on this so I could avoid having to order a rear wiper blade or go across town to the dealer. I believe I have the same blade as a few other posters in this thread, the one without any metal inserts.
It looks like Roberk and Anco have both stopped selling these refills. I'm not sure they're even in business any longer. I've checked Autozone and O'Reilly, and neither have been much help. I'm wondering if anyone on here has come up with a solution that is currently available.
Thanks!

We matched up an Anco RD24NR ($2 at O'Reilly). It's just the refill. The plastic holder is different, but the rubber slides out and slides right into the plastic frame off the Mini. It's even slightly more snug than the OEM.

Everybody here is talking 10" blades; it looks like mine is longer, as the counter guy measured it as a 12, and we cut a 24 in half which fits (a 25 might have fit better).

I was wondering this too. You just never see wiper refills anywhere any more. I guess I will have to go back to ordering the whole assembly or $15 bucks.
