K so i changed my oil at midas today took forever because they didnt have the right filter so i went to checker bought the filter they said was for my car fram and then went back to midas to get the oil changed. BUT they couldnt replace the filter because the fram one didnt have a center thing and the one they took out they tryed to get it out but couldnt so they then thought (correctly or incorrectly?) that the oil filter is suppose to come with this center piece, heres a pic (i hope it shows up i dont no how to do this)

so then i went back to checker saying the part was wrong and then they told me that the part is right.... so what do i do? does that center piece come out? there a trick to it?

The oil filters for my 2006 S look like the one on the left in your photo. Is that the new one from Checker? The filter on the right in your photo looks like the flange ("oil filter cover") was removed from the filter housing. This is what the filters seats against. Whoever removed the filter from your auto did not know what they are doing. You better find out how to take care of this yourself and fast.

yah, as billie mentioned, my filter looks like the one on the left.

bought mine from miniparts.net , and from outmotoring in the past.

 

My 06 MCS looks like the one on the left too. I buy OEM filters, (via the dealer or online).
