On mine, the toggle switch next to the right window toggle switch is for the REAR fog lights, IF you have rear fog lights.

I have fog lights but no switch next to the right window switch. What am I missing?
"What am I missing?" -- fog lights.

The switches from the right are: right window, front fog lights, rear fog lights . . .

You may not have fog lights, but may instead be looking at the turn signals/parking indicator lights.
Look at allenski's sig ^ from the top he has: headlights, turn signals, and then fog lights (very small - at very bottom of the bumper). Do you have those 3?

Actually I disagree. Civic owners aren't as passionate about their cars, so there would be very few members!

actually there is a ton of civic enthusiests! but their cars usually break down more because of all the cheap ebay mods! ;p at least mini has great top of the line brands for aftermarket! and stock is bmw by the way : ) so we are in good hands either way.

Welcome from another Ohio MINI owner. Don't let all the problems scare you....they aren't as frequent as forums make it seem. I had an 02 up until last month and only experienced 2 major problems over the course of those 6 years that required a dealer visit.

LOL? I'm gonna guess you've never been to a JDM meet.

Look at this way, it is clean, drives well I assume, and has over 60K miles, so all in all it probably doesn't have issues or hopefully they have been dealt with already. Just be very proactive in all your maintenance and repairs and you will probably put another 100K miles on it. I hope you got a good price and keep track of your repair costs, if it starts getting too high, then think about starting over with a new one!

Well, somebody smarter than me (about 90 % of the NAM population) is gonna have to answer this for you.
I would say that someone put in the lights aftermarket without upgrading the control panel . . . but I see you have the sport package, which includes the fog lights -- so all I can guess is that, at some point, the toggle panel had to be replaced . . . but it was replaced with a 4-toggle instead of a 5-toggle, and now you'd have to find the right panel and have the dealer program in the fog lights.

Are you sure they're fogs and not driving lights? Are they OEM?

Ok, I was kidding! I know there are a lot of honda owners out there, far outnumbering the superior MINI owners! (JOKE!) But seriously, MINI does seem to inspire a passion among owners unlike other cars. So I think, on AVERAGE MINI owners are more passionate. And NAM is a great place to share that passion.

Ohio-ans are EVERYWHERE!! We may just not LIVE in Ohio... (husband & I are from Dayton, or thereabouts.)

I'd have to echo Eager2Own about someone smarter than us, but I havta ask a dumb question...When you turn your lights on, do the fogs automatically turn on also? When you do any of the lights on/blinkers on/etc. do they come on with ANYTHING else simultaneously? The last owner may have modded it to do that, and figured they didn't need to put a toggle in...?

Good luck with figuring it out and happy motoring. Minis are special.

no they don't come on with any of the lights. I checked all that. They are fogs from the factory as I checked another 2004 Mini and they are identical. Very strange.

Wish I could, except that I'm living in VA right now. I won't be back to OH until early July. I'll keep my eyes on this thread in case you don't figure it out by then!
