If someone finds a company that makes colored plugs that will fit the holes left by the MINI badge, it'll be toast, too.

R

I suggest body piercing studs to fill those holes.

I guess I don't consider removing the "Cooper" from the boot de-badging. Not when MINI logos still grace each end of the car.
Who had the cojones (or was just plain nuts enough) to remove all MINI logos??

>>So, needless to say, I never got pictures of my badgeless boot. Instead, I ended up soaking wet, spent 3.5 hours of my Saturday and $1500 all because I wanted to go take a picture under a little cover.
>>

Harmini... what can I say, but kudos. What a wonderful gesture to help out a friend. Be careful, as too many friends like that and you'll go broke, but kudos! I hope she understands what a good friend you are.

Call me guilty as charged. I removed the Cooper S from the boot shortly after delivery, and had great fun this morning figuring out what to do with the body holes left from ripping off the MINI badges.

So I present for your approval/disapproval, the debadged and re-badged DRAGONSLAYER EDITION MCS:

Harmini, I'm sorry to hear what your friend and you have been going through, but with your help, everything should work out in the end.

Here is just another example which shows that Kim TOTALLY RAWKS!

I guess I missread the thread when I posted that I removed the Cooper S badge fom the rear of my car.

Removing the MINI badges from your car because MINI is protecting their copyright in an apparently clumsy and unfriendly way is just reactionary and silly.

You people need to find a real cause to rally behind and get a freakin' life.

Owning a Mini doesn't automatically mean your the brightest
bulb in the pack. Putting bolts and colored plugs in the holes??!!
Lets all just rip our cars up, that will show THEM.

To each their own.

I can't say I'll be removing my badges. I like the look, but I just don't wanna...
HOWEVER...
I did figure out what was slowing me down in Divisional Autocross.. that damn MINIUSA.COM sticker I had plastered to the front bumper for "Contingency Money"...

I took it off tonight, and noticed a 5 to 10 hp gain!!!!

Wooo Hooooo!!!!

My de-badging took place when I bought the car back in June. This has nothing to do with BMW and the brand. I'm leaving the mini badges there. I removed the cooperS because the red stuck out and I wanted a simpler view of the rear. see sig.

Harmini - you really are too kind, that was a wonderful thing to do for your friend, and also good of you to lecture her too!

HARMINI, you are a true friend indeed. I've also leant serious money to friends who were in need, and I've rarely gotten it back. Be prepared to consider it money well spent, and leave it at that. If you get it back eventually, all the better.

My other car is a Honda S2000. Like the MINI, a cottage industry has sprung up around that car and there are a number of very good folks making trim pieces that focus on the "S" in S2000. I have ordered and will be installing soon a small black circular emblem with a red "S" in the center of it to cover over the locator holes under the "Winged MINI" emblem. I will also be "skinning" the Cooper S emblem off the boot now that I know it has no holes under it. I did the same to the S2000 side emblems.

I will post photos when done along with a link to the vendor's site if any one likes what they see.

I feel like I've gotta keep my badges on just to avoid explaining what the heck I'm driving, don't get me wrong, I love my Mini. I can't count how many times I hear "What in tarnations is that thing you got there?" I wish the badges were bigger!!!
