Has anyone had any window problems?
Mine was intermittent, but now it's not working at all.
No dip or up and down. Any ideas ??

I had that happen to me when I pulled up to order at a fast food place ... had to open the door to place my order.

Took it into MINI and got it fixed. Hasn't happened since.

Johnna - did they say what was wrong? How long did it take to fix? Sorry for the questions (especially since this was so long ago) but my window just stopped working and your response was the first I saw on a search.
Anyone else have this problem fixed out of warranty? $$$ figures?

DrkSlvrS,

Sorry to hear about your window.

Are you still in warranty period? If not then it might be costly.
Several owners have reported failed windows (can't roll up) on the passenger and driver's sides. These are fixed under warranty usually. Problem is that sometimes this is intermittent and doesn't malfunction for the dealer so it can take several visits.

If yours doesn't work at all it sounds like you should call the dealership to get an estimate of the work cost if it is out of warranty.

I've had other older cars that had failed power windows and the cost of repair tended to be about $150 to $200 per window.

This seems to be a problem area. A number of folks have reported failures of the window actuator. The one on my passenger side failed just as you reported. First it was intermittent. Then it was just dead. The dealer fixed it under warrenty. You'll need to take it in to your local dealer.

I'm a little concerned about what this might cost out of warrenty, but maybe they'll have a better actuator by then, so that once its fixed, it stays fixed. We'll see.

Good luck

I have a question about this...my passenger side was intermittent working and not working for the month of july...but i was out of state, and didnt know where the closest dealer was, so i just waited till i got home in august...but by then the problem completely cleared up...should i still talk to them about it? Will it resurface later do you think?
