Hello everyone, I am new to the board and the whole Mini-cooper thing. I am currently looking to purchace a Mini Cooper S, but am a little leary about some things, and figured that this would be the place to get my questions answered. I am primarily an american car guy, and I currently own a firebird, but I have always loved the old mini's. First and foremost, how long does it take to get one and are they selling them above the MSRP. I have a dealership not too far away, maybe 30 miles or so, but have not been able to get down there yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the site BlueJay.

There are waiting lists pretty much everywhere you go. Some are shorter than others but I've yet to here of one without a wait.
Price gouging is relative to the area you are in. In CA. price gouging is taking on a new meaning!!! In GA, TN, etc..... Not so much. There are several dealers selling at MSRP. Look around and get ready to wait...

Take a look through the forums... You will find alot of answers to most of your questions.

Well, I finally got in contact with the local dealer here in NC, he said that the wait is 6 to nine months depending on how stringent I am with my order. I made an appointment to go take a test drive next week. Hopefully I'll be able to put down the deposit after I drive it  I'll have to shop around to find the least price gouging though. It seems VA beach has good prices.

That is good to hear, because they are the people that I have been talking to and the place that I am going to go take my test drive at.

Thanks
