Radar cruise control: for MINI Cooper S

Hi, I want to reduce my potential for a rear end collision with the car/ truck in front of me. But, I do not want to follow further away. So, I am wondering if anyone knows of a place I can get a radar enabled cruise control system for my 2003 Mini S.

I have found these for other cars, just not the mini:

For example, the 2008 Lexus GS has radar cruise control systems factory installed. Additionally, the 2008 550 Mercedes does.

Never heard of an aftermarket system. If there's one, it won't be cheap because it'll have to interface with the cruse control and possibly have an actuator to activate the brakes when needed. Will be quite a bit more complex than say a radar backup system that just 'beeps'.

Standard on my MINI -- located between the gas pedal and the clutch.

I love this thread already.

I have almost 32,000 miles on my MINI... and I suspect I've used my cruise control for maybe 200 of those miles... basically only when leading a club convoy on the highway... I only have one pedal to the left of the gas in my car, and I rarely use it, but dittos on it's ability to prevent exterior inflicted sudden deceleration syndrome, when properly applied.

Only time I ever use my cruise, is on really long trips where traffic is minimal, if not non-existent.
