My '03 MCS has about 7k miles on it and I'm starting to notice the squeaking, but I try to drown it out with the radio...Is it going to get worse?

Has anyone had problems and reported it to MINI or the dealer? What did they do to remedy the situation?

Thanks

Had the same problem. I adjusted seat positions (up and down); left it there for a day and returned to normal position and the squeaks are gone. Temporary seat adjustments don't have to be severe, either. Just get them out of normal position. Good luck.

Holy Cow do my seats squeak!

I've taken them in a few times and the dealer greases them up nice nice so they don't squeak, and they're fine for a week or too. Then they start again.

Adjusting the seat height seems to get rid of the squeaks temporarily.

I get in and out of the back seat alot (to get the munchkin out), and this seems to make the squeaks worse.

My S is in for the squeak right now. Driver's side seat bottom squeaks at a clutch depression, around curves, over bumps, and getting in in and out. Sounds CHEAP! Will be posting results.

Raise the seat to its highest position and then, very carefully, spray WD-40 on the moving seat support mechanisms under the seat bottom. Works like a charm and no more squeaking.

No need to get the dealer involved or replace the seats...2 time wasters IMO.
