Whoo! Just got back with my cooper....man that was the fastest 3 hr drive I've ever had! These cars are so awesome....

Yeah, TWON your right it's because of all you guys that when a good deal popped up I was able to pounce on it. THANK YOU!!!

Heres the Skinny:
"02 MCS 55K, Dark Silver/White Top and White+Stripes. It's got the Grey/Lapis Blue leather seats/carpet and the Sport and Premium Packages and an Alta 17%pully. I got it for $14,250. It has maintenance records 22pages thick, every oil change, tire rotation, wiper blade change and it just had the power steering fan and brakes done in July.

The guy that sold it to me is a MINI Nut he has a Cabrio S and a Classic 1968 Cooper as well. The only reason he was selling it is to make room for his new Clubman that comes in next week. He sold it to me for $250 over what the dealer was offering him as trade because he just wanted another enthusiast to have it. He is the head of a MINI club in OH, name is Tony , perhaps you guys know him? He and my new car were at the Dragon two years ago....

It's raining here in MI so I'll have to wait and get some pics up after I detail it this weekend.

Thanks again guys for all your help!

'03 S with 32K miles, premium & sport packages, several pretty slick mods - the kind where you know the guy knew what he was doing, without doing too much... $15,500.

Got a '05 MCS

In Dec '07 I purchased an '05 Hyper Blue MCS with everything except Nav system, for $18,000. It had 48,000 miles when bought it. I have not had any problems with the car and have enjoyed every minute of driving. The NADA and Kelly Blue Book had it listed between $20,000 and $24,000 so I think I got a good deal.

I traded in my '06 Chrysler 300 so it knocked the price down a little more since I owed less on it then the car was worth. I bought the car at a Subaru dealer and they said they just wanted it off their lot since it wasn't a Subaru, so they weren't marking it up much from what they paid for it. (Truth? I don't know or care at this point.)

This car is exactly what I would have chosen, had I put one together brand new, except that I wouldn't have chosen leather seats. I have blue/black neoprene seat covers on the way to remedy that.

Regardless as to the price tag the main question is, do you have buyers remorse afterwards? For that I have to answer, no!

I am not sure I would buy anything used with over 50K miles. Stick to your guns on price range, mileage and excellent condition, stay away from modded cars because they are actually worth less than a bone stock vehicle. Give in on any of the options if you can find the price, condition and low, low mileage you need to look for. And then when you have narrowed it to the one pull a Carfax to make sure it isn't rebuilt from an accident. Low mileage=less than 10K, stick to your guns in the used purchase or just buy a NEW 2008 without any options for about 22K!

Is it sad that I can tell those tires are RE01Rs?

I don't think its about how much you spent but rather how happy you are..
I love my MINI and I acknowledge that it was expensive, but I really believe it was worth every penny.

05 for 20k

I just bought a one owner 2005 S with 22k miles for 20k. It was at the mini dealer in Chesapeake Va. Has everything but Nav system. Price includes warranty on tires and full service and warranty to 100K miles. Deals are out there. Good luck

What a great thread...I'm a total n00b and I am about to make my first Mini purchased. (used)

I found a 2005 MCS w/Premium,Sport Package, 6,600 miles (yes..less than 7k..weekend car) with a clean carfax.

Seller wanted 18.5k

Is this a good deal?

I bought the first 2002 MCS that was ordered in the states back in October, 2006 for $17,500. Very low mileage (22,000), and immaculately maintained-concours condition with many tasteful mods. Never sees rain or snow. Yup, it's pampered...until I get it on the track.

Go for it.

In December we picked up an '05 CS with sport, gauge, and chrome pkgs, 25K for 17,900.

If you don't mind me asking... How much is a MINI like yours in Singapore?
Are there very many MINI's in your area or are other drivers constantly asking you about your MINI?

Hey..

A brand new MCS like mine would cost abt S$127K.. I got mine used for S$69K (car is 4.5 yrs old then).

The Mini community in Singapore is a minority compared to the rest of the different car makes. I've got drivers complimenting on my car (I do the same too should I see another nice car!)..

loaded 2006MCS

Found my 2006 MCS loaded checkmate with 8700 mile last March for 22,800 on NAM with spare set of tires and lots of goodies. Prices have gotten higher since then due to lack of new ones at dealers
