R50/53 Have you run into another MINI on the road while motoring?
I live in a city that has two dealerships and I see maybe one MINI a week, I think everybody is buying and hiding them. Come folks in Atlanta, get out and MOTOR! I know I am not the only person that has one, or I would not have had to wait for my MCS. I know you are out there, I see your postings!!! LET MOTOR!

I ran into two (figuratively, of course) the day I picked up mine. The first at the gas station (dealer gave me just enough to run out getting there) and the second in a parking lot by our take out chicken place. Both MCS, one EB and the other yellow.
It's not a touchy subject at all....
The fact is that on average, during the 2 months I have owned my S, 4 times a week someone pulls up to me at a light, rolls down their window, and asks me if it is as much fun as it looks.
When you share with others your enthusaism and knowledge about the car it re-afirms your passion and interest in the mini. The more you are asked to talk about it the more you love your car. It's true with anything in life. If you said something nice about your wife everyday to some new individual, you would find you love your wife more. Basic Psychology stuff.
Anyhow, since I am not one to brag, or go seek opportunities to talk to others about my mini, this occurance (of people stopping me) is going to become less common as more and more mini's show up on the road.
So, for those of you who tire of the attention...yes it's bothersome at times...but it is good to be reminded of your convictions occassionally. For those of you who have yet to get your mini, hopefully you will experience what can only occur when a new car is introduced into an environment that has never seen one or heard of one before.

Like L.Mini, I've seen quite a few around Baltimore, most of whom have waved and smiled at me. In fact, there's a Dark Blue/White Cooper that now lives two block down the street from me! I haven't seen the driver yet, though. Other than that, I saw one or two in Northern California when I was out there in August, and I ran into a Liquid Yellow/Black Cooper (exactly like mine) in Princeton, NJ a couple weeks ago.
As jsun noted, Baltimore seems to be a very Mini-rich area.

Not a one......in 3 months....driving...
BUT
Just the other day I parked in Roosevelt Field,LI....at the far end of the parking lot ...where I always do....to keep away from....others
When I returned ...a Electric Blue MCS was parked directly in from of mine...completely hiding my view of my MCS...so I did a quick ...double take....then realized mine was hiden behind it.
Peace,
D

I parked next to a black on black S the other day, and there is a pepper white copper a few blocks from me. I am starting to see them rather frequently on the road now. I live in Northern New Jersey and we have three dealers in a 50 mile radius.

I see MINIs quite often here in Jacksonville, FL. I exchanged waves with one on my way home from taking delivery of mine. I see them on Interstate 95 once in a while, and on San Jose Blvd. Last weekend I saw a very dirty black MINI at a strip mall, I felt so sorry for the MINI. That same weekend I saw a PS MCS and we were driving the same route and ended up chatting while at a stoplight. Yesterday I saw two indi blue MINI's in the same parking lot at a mall, but not parked next to each other. One was very dirty (poor thing) and one was looking quite proud. This is all just in the past two weeks since I've had mine. And across the street from my house, my very cool neighbors have an MCS.
I have run into a couple of other MINIs while motoring. I live on a small island in NYC, with lots of restaurants, and therefore, lots of "tourists". I have seen a couple here. My funniest experience was in Maine, at the end of September, while getting back into my MINI a woman parked beside me asked the usual dozen questions and then said "I saw one exactly like this yesterday coming up 95". I assured her, given the amount of stop dead in the road interest we got the last 24 hours in Maine that it had to be us! I felt fairly confident that there was no other silver/black MINI in Maine that weekend.
Have fun, still getting lots of attention 3 months later.

I've been very frustrated, because I've seen about 5 MINIs in my town, and I have no idea who they are!! I keep hoping they will find this site and floridamini.net, but so far no luck. I saw an MCS the other day on Cypress Gardens Blvd (a great motoring road btw,) and I sped up to catch up with her...I got even with her, honked and waved and she just looked at me like "what the h*#& is your problem!" Not exactly the response I hoped for

Hey Joanne, that might have been ME up there in Maine that weekend! I have an Pure Silever/Black MCS (no bonnet stripes though), although I live in Mass., my family is in Maine and I spent a couple of weekends up there myself in Sept. Too bad I didn't see you along the way. I'll be sure to honk and wave if I see you up there another time!

I've seen a few Minis and one MCS here in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Theres a BRG/W top like mine but with some nice 17" aftermarket rims in my neighborhood about a few blocks from me.
I've seem a few MC's in Vegas and even a MCS along side Vipers and Prowlers for rent on the strip

Not exactly while motoring but at the company parking lot ...
This was today. (*Note the MINI's special parking spot). Cooper S with Sport Package nonetheless. Something to do with the Cooper S giveaway PayDirect has going (I'm not endorsing here, thus no link
).

and this one was last week (shot at night so the shot is not that good). Quite a nice Classic there ...

After months of ownership and 8K miles having seen only a couple other MINIs, this week I've seen two!
The other day I was traveling in the same direction as a PW/B and today I was right behind another PS/B at a stop light!
It was SO cool! I pulled up behind her at the light and tooted the horn and waved. I noticed that she still had temporary plates in the window, so I knew she was a relative "newbie." She waved back and got really excited. We pulled onto a two lane road and I pulled up beside her to "chat" through open windows! (It was only for a few seconds, so we didn't back up traffic!)
UNBELIEVABLE, the instant "bond" and friendliness between fellow MINI owners! The excitement is so great!
The wierdest part about the whole thing was that I was NOT P.O.'d about seeing another PS/B MINI like I thought I would be. I liked to look at it. I thought I would be incensed at seeing another one because mine would be that much less unique. NOT AT ALL! If anything, I was almost flattered that someone has similar taste as me. Corny, I know.
I wonder how long before this kind of excitement wears off? I hope Never! May MINI owners always greet each other with a honk, a wave, and a big smile!

I finally connected with another MINI. I've seen an MCS on the way to work a couple of times. I've honked and flashed my lights but got no response. Today, as I came up to a right turn, there she was waiting to turn left. I flashed, she waved, I waved - big grins on both of our faces. That made my day!
In Orlando, I've seen four...my first sighting was on I-4 and this black chick was driving a PS/BLK S and I flashed and sped by her. She caught up with me (talking on her cell phone :???: ) laughed and sped away.
Also, another dude in the exact same car, sped by him, did the S curve thang and met him at the light. He had a Hot Wheels sticker next to his plate...har har
