R50/53 Aerokits, why are they called like that?

the problem with aftermarket kits is always correct fit.
mini aftermarket is enormous. this givesanyone with access to the right equipment the ability to cash in.
may sound obvious, but "buyer beware". your options will be plenty, and price is no guarantee. mini parts fit mini cars. they are your best bet. especially when it comes to body mods.
stying is rea subjective too, you may love the look of an aftermarket kit.
I have seen kits that will make your MINI look more like a tricked out Honda Del Sol. Andif that's what you are going for, more power to you.

me, I have opted to keep the original bumper for my MCS, but I have the aero grill set on order from outmotoring.com
that and a new pulley and I'll be all set.

OK, first of all, you have more drage. Wanna know why?? Because it lowers the sides and the front of the car, so you have more surface dragging the air. Right?-Quote from MARWAN
Unfortunately, WRONG, Lower sides, and front, or higher front does not mean lower speed.
A cooper, in any trim has a coefficient of drag of about .33-.35
A Hayabusa Motorcycle has a coefficient of drag of about .603
The goodyear blimp has a coefficient of drag of about .020-.025
My point is you can be small, like a motorcycle, with a lot of drag, or big like a blimp, with very little drag AND using more material, like an aero kit, can yeild less drag. That being said, I have know idea of any TANGIBLE difference of a MCS with or without said "Aero Kit"

Just thought I'd throw that out there.
EDIT: I haven't seen an aero kit in person, so I can't voice as to any effects on the Cd of the MINI.
