Funny you mention that. All the firefighters in my department HATED the troopers. The troopers didnt like the fact that the firemen got blue lights in their cars when they are not cops. Stupid, I know but still....As a result they started issuing tickets to the probationary firefighters in my town who had the light. Cause a huge division between the fire and TROOPERS. Oh well.

Wow Over a blue light? Seems kinda odd.

 

Im from a small town. Very clicky even with the EMS services. Its kinda like the army vs navy thing. Anyway petty crap like that happens all the time here.

 

Back on topic- I was in a gas station one night and a cop drove up to me and started asking me questions about my MINI, he said he wanted to get one for his daughter and all that.

The cops that gave me the intake citation liked my car too. When they stoped me they said "Hey its a Meenee Coopah!" They still gave me a ticket anyways But they just gave me a warning for the front Euro plate.

I know some people hate cops, sometimes I feel dislike for them too but most are just doing their job. There are lots of cops that abuse their power that doesnt mean theyre all bad. If you hate cops so much then who will you call if your robbed or car jacked? Superman?

ray, it's Lester. and they got they're guns from B&B (closed down now) if they came to my house it would have been over a lot quicker. they only picked up sporters from B&B....

 

That LA shootout was crazy! I remember the cops had to go to a local gun store because their glocks could not pierce the robber's body armour!

as for cops. my friends mother is a cop and when she was a cruiser she said she used to go through red lights and stuff all the time, cause she could. my friends mother is a great person by the way.
i like cops until they pull me over...

Its not that they were outgunned... its that the firearms they had couldnt penetrate the full body suits the robbers were wearing. HAHA I said penetrate...

 

A bunch of cops with 9mm handguns against 2 robbers with AK-47's, I think they were outgunned. I agree with you about the armor...they couldnt penatrate it

the officers in question were issued level 2 body armor, (rated to stop/ slow pistol rounds) and were carrying .40S&W, not 9mm. packs a little more punch but not that much more.

The bad guys were using level 3 body armor. designed to slow rifle rounds and stop pistol rounds. they were using various .308, .223, russian30, 7.62x39 all of which are combat rounds designed to defeat armor. but it wasn't as much being undergunned as poor tactics. swat actually held off going in as they needed to plan prior to breaching. they just needed to be more agressive and not let the patrolmen and one of they're swat elements handle them on they're own. politics in the middle of a firefight. Hmm..

I'm in Texas and most cops here are totally red neck! They are on a power trip and think they can do anything they want to you. If you are not their race, they will make your life a living hell. It doesn't matter, if the cop is a mexican and you are white or black, he takes offense that you can afford your car and talks to you ugly, if the cop is white and you are black or mexican, they act like you killed someone by driving fast. and so it goes! It's all a power trip. Some are Army-want-to-be types and couldn't cut the military so are cops insted! They have chips on their shoulders and are cocky talking, just looking for a fight. I have no time for them.

I haven't gotten pulled over in over 10 years and I don't plan to when I get my MINI.

I think I will have a serious problem with a law officer pulling me over, detaining me from going to my destination, just to ask me what type of car I am driving. If I am not breaking the law, he should leave me alone. If he sees my car and likes it, he can look it up on the internet and find out about it.

Sorry but I just had to say this. Chrisnl, I think your Boston cops came from Texas!!!

Yeah so did our troopers.

 

I've been pretty fortunate with cops. Not tht I get pulled over a lot, but I've gone through my stages. Nothing outrageous, just that things happen. I'd say only 20% of the times I've been pulled over have I gotten a ticket. I'll never forget one time though, I thought I was due a ticket for sure!

I'd rolled out of bed and had errands to run, which I did w/o even combing my hair. I got stopped for making a right on red, wasn't paying attention and didn't see the sign.

This young Camden, NJ cop tells me he's pulling me over because a right on red is not prohibited at that intersection. I said "excuse me?", and he repeats the same thing. I looked such a wreck that I didn't feel like being nice and figured I'd not be getting out of this one. I told him "you mean it IS prohibited OR it's not allowed". "Oh yeah, uhh, it's not allowed. Be more careful next time." And he let me go! What a shocker!

Cops are people, too. Some nice, some not so nice.

Definitely not nice to pull one over just to get a look at their car!!
