Headers or Light Wheels?

I have not decided yet but Christmas is coming again...you know that special wish from Santa...

Should I get the OBX Header approx. $400 (with install) or a set of 17x7 light alloy wheel (Enkei RPM2 $199 each or Privat Netz $150 each) to go with my GY run-flat. I know that you would probably suggest to change to non-RF but I still have lots of rubber left and budget does not permit.

Convince me.

PS: I don't do AX, just spirited driving.

I chose the light weight wheel/tire combo. You get benefits in acceleration, braking, and handling. Plus, you make the car more unique and personalized from a visual perspective. Plus, you can sell the SLites to recover some of the cost.

Header will give you stronger acceleration and a louder exhaust. Probably can't sell the stock manifold for much... And it gives zero visual impact from outside the car...

I vote wheels. You'll feel the difference.

The tires are gonna be pretty hard to mount on the headers, and the ride will be horrible. Go with the wheels.

1 more for light wheels and good rubber. Ive spoken with a few people that had a header and later removed it becuase it either made it too loud or because they were unhappy with the torque loss. Buy the wheels and dont look back.

Wheels are one of the best mods. Go as light as possible. EVERYTHING works better when you lighten the wheels. If it were me, I'd dump the run-flats, too, but that ups the $$.

Go for the wheels....

and if anyone had torque loss with a header, they bought the wrong one! The primaries are too large, and the scavaging went down the tubes! OBX doesn't loose torque. Even with the stock cat. It's a nice mod, but you're digging deeper than just the cost of the header. You'll need to get a cat, or cut up the stocker to take it's, then have it welded on. The OBX is a 2.5" exit, and the stock cat back is 2.25, not the best match. But many use the OBX, stock cat, one-ball as a very nice, low cost exhaust system.

If you want the lightest rims around, get 15"x5.5" Volk TE 37s, in that size, something like 7lbs. each.

Wheels.

I read that they would make a difference and had my reservations. As I pulled out of the wheel shop with 8 pounds less per corner I became a true believer. WOW!!!
