Ian, Dominic,

The only thing I'm trying to clear up here is that BMW doesn't just make cars with random options that a computer spits out and send them to dealerships like most other manufacturers. If dealerships are selling cars to to other dealerships, this may mean the sales for the dealership selling the car isn't up to par, or the color of the car the dealership is selling isn't doing well in their market. If for some reason the dealership ordered a car that they thought would sell well, and it isn't then I could see them selling that car to another dealership whose market is better for that particular market or color. I would think a BMW dealership selling or trading cars is very rare because of the way the BMW ordering system works.

I'm not sure I follow you. In one breath you say cars aren't alloted to a dealership, then in another breath you say cars are redistributed due to extra cars.

So if there is no allotments of numbers of vehicles produced for each dealership each month, shouldn't all waitlist times across the USA be identical then?
