I will be taking delivery of my S model in September.

All black, aero package and just about every upgrade you can get aside from the GPS system.

Lets say I put a couple thousand miles on the car and decide Im not happy with it. Whats the re-sale value like on these things? Do they tend to hold their value well?

Thanks.

Some of it depends on the area you live in. Supply & demand thing...... Check ebay also and all the MINI forums in the "For Sale" areas.

Chow!

I just saw a report from somewhere--my mum gave it to me--about resale value and the MINI (I believe it was a Cooper S) had the highest value retention in it's class. If I remember, I'll post the name/location of the report, but if I don't, then you can rest kind of assured that at least one person has seen at least one thing that says resale value is A-OK.

That said.... trust me: you won't want to get rid of it...

If you have a highly upgraded MCS you might not get as much of your investment back as a more moderately optioned car. If you sell it in an area like California where the supply is low then you are more likely to get a higher selling price. If you are unsure on keeping it then run it stock for the first few months and see how you like it before making more aftermarket upgrades. This would minimize your investment until you are certain you want to keep the car.
