The MINI saved you from many more rolls; I just pictured a behemoth SUV pulling the same stunt you did. It would have rolled many, many more times with a much worse outcome for the driver - seatbelt or no seatbelt.

Point being, it was the guard rail that flipped the MINI - The velocity (which would most likely have been pretty much bleed off by said guardrail) and other obstacles that would have kept it rolling . The higher CG (and sloppier suspension) will certainly get the SUV rolling quicker (w/o an obstacle present), but the same conditions apply once it has started rolling.
