R50/53 Warning- this car is dangerous - don't buy it.....
I have a few problems with taking off/on ramps so fast my husband gets car sick! It was also SO hard to drive home after seeing the stunt driver from The Italian Job! I suddenly became a stunt driver! (not like I already wasn't)
>>If you feel unsafe and tempted to drive hard then I would recommend a driving school so that you can learn how the pros drive safely at speed. It makes a big difference.
Totally agreed. I just got back from a two-day track event with my car. Took my dearest out on the track and learned to get comfortable with the car in all sorts of conditions. Conned an instructor into taking me out in my car and really tossing it to see what it could do. Even at 6-7/10ths, the car amazed everyone.
I'd definitely recommend that experience to EVERY driver out there. Learn to know what your car can do in any situation you can imagine. It's the best way to learn to avoid bad situations.
... and you know, after two days of pedal-to-the-floor driving in very controlled environments (and I've got SO much more to learn!), I've got almost no urge to be reckless or speed stupidly in regular traffic (emphasis on the stupid and reckless part here...). There's a time and a place for that sort of speed...

Get the JCW upgrade, then you'll have some devilish fun!
well....mentally I have a hard time time justifying spending $5700 for less than 1/2 second increase 0 to 60 and an extra 7 mph top end from 135 to 142 since I will never see 120 top end in any mini, laugh !

miniblues, go down to the dealer, they have a JCW car you can test drive. Be sure to sign up for an appt as it is end of month. You'll have a serious blast!! Trust me. The .5 sec increase you talk about might not seem that much looking at the numbers, but I can tell you my MCS is a slow pig compared to that JCW MCS. Wow, the difference is amazing!

Oh, btw, I don't plan to get the JCW package. I'm almost 1/3 of the way thru my warantee at four months of ownership. So I plan to get aftermarket mods to bring my MCS up to around 220 HP as money allows.
First mod is the pulley, then I'm getting one of those ALTA intakes as soon as they come in stock (serious back order on those)...
