Develop apps for Microsoft Office System
and you could win a MINI Cooper

The trick is to start developing with MS Office System Beta 2.

Ok, so your avarage SW engineer takes home about $200 a day,
And the lease on a mini is what? also about 200?

So if your a software engineer, a years lease represents about 12 days work.

And how long do you think it will take to write these apps? Maybe about that long, but you are competing for a >chance< to win a 1year mini lease.

And did you notice the criteria for judging? The apps have to fulfill a buisness need, or be interesting or adress a problem that needs adressing.

So I see this as, Send us your work, worth about $1200, for free and allow us to use it, even if you don't get a prize. Oh and by the way 5 lucky winner will get a prize worth about $1200.

Errr. No thank you!

It would be work not really paid for. But, MINI Cooper is at least getting to the geek population of the country. Aspiring to set geeks a goal to work against. There are guys out there that have nothing better to do than JUST THAT. Write a program to win a car...

I am a geek, but OWN one and thought it cool to see the car in a publication of this type. Anyway...
