Anyone found a source for a "plug-and-play" CD changer? When I picked up my S they had already included their own CD changer and wanted something like $700! Being as tight as I am - thanks, but no thanks. Two screws and two plugs and about two minutes later it was gone! If they are that easy to fit I'd like to get a more realistically priced one. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

I've seen them offered on e-bay. It's a BMW changer (alpine, I think).

Do you guys think it's possible to install a Sony changer for instance in the Cooper S? I have a 10 disks changer that I'd like to keep... and save $ at the same time!

I've got a Sony 6 disk too...

I think if you buy a blitzsafe adapter it'll work with the MINI head... but I'm not sure if the MFSW will work to control the changer...

I'd love to hear more?

I too have seen them on ebay for 300 dollars or so?! You'll haveta be careful though.... if the non-mini cd changer fails and causes some kind of problem it isn't covered by warranty! that's the only good thing about paying the extra 600 bucks for the factory installed cd changer! Not sure what i'm going to do yet..... but being that I'm really concerned that something will wind up going wrong I will most likely go for the factory installed......hell.... i'm gunna be spending about 19 grand(base msrp)... what's another 600 bucks with assurance that it'll be covered under warranty if something goes wrong with it! (my opinion though!)
