Does anybody know when the Cooper S will see an increase in HP... 2003, 2004???

 

BMW/MINI has said nothing about an increase in HP at all in the future.

However, John Cooper Works is in the development stages of a performance package for the MINI. Have seen a Jan 03 release date. Expect it to cost a few thousand dollars and take the HP up to about 200. Also, this will not void your warranty.

 

JCW said that they will have official information on the upgrade posted on their website in October. Let's hope they do. Could be a nice option.

What about the new contract with Peugo, and Citroen? They're going to be making several new engines for BMW, aren't they? Does anyone know if there will be a more powerful one than the 163hp in the Cooper S?
