Performance is about horsepower to weight. The bonnet on the Mini is one large piece of steel that could be replace with a very light weight carbon fiber part. Is anyone interested in this? If there is enough interest I would have a mold and parts made that would be a bolt on replacement. I have an S so that the parts I would sell would have the air scoop. I would love to do that when my S gets here. What kinda of price are we talking about here.

 

One rule must be made though: everyone who gets a carbon fiber hood has to promise to actually paint the hood instead of looking like all the Honda Civics around here. It just looks cheap if you don't paint it!

Another concern is that the headlights are integrated into the hood...

would this be a carbon-fiber hood with some kind of functioning headlights, or just the shell with no headlights?
