Battery size for 2004 MC?

Is the battery on the 2004 MC the same as the 2003s? I called up a couple of places and they had batteries for the 2003 but said not for the 2004. Wondering if there was a difference. Also, approx how much is a replacement?

Same oem battery for the 2002 through 2006 for MC and MCS.
Part #6216920804.
Maybe your supplier's book only has MINI info through the 2003 model year.

All group 47 batteries fit the MCS, but only some fit the MC.

Post # 2 on this thread has some information on what fits and what doesn't.
Prices are usually in the $85 to $100 range for aftermarket and almost double
that for oem from the dealer.

This morning my oddessy for the Mini battery began. First off, it seems no one in the Southern Miami area has the Mini battery in stock. I tried autozone, advance autoparts, walmart, etc... They all told me that the battery I was looking for needed to be "special ordered". I ended up at a firestone where the listed replacement "interstate MT48, did not fit due to improper length. The MT47 did drop into battery compartment but wasnt tall enough for the battery posts to be inline with the vent tube...plus there was no breather hole, which the original battery has....not sure what that breather hole and tube is for though. Also, the retaining piece couldnt be put back properly either. I was contemplating on whether to cut some of the plastic near the vent tubes to allow for the lower battery position/posts but was worried whether that "breather tube" on the old battery was significant in anyway so I decided to call the dealer. I called South Motors Mini parts department and they told me the OEM battery was $101!! On my drive down to the dealer I called up the service department to see if they could drop in the battery for me and they told me that the cost of the battery plus installation was $300!!. I shouted into the phone, "you're telling me you're going to charge me $200 to install a battery?!?!" Without getting an answer to my question the lady said that if my car was under warranty the installation would be free. Since my mini was still under warranty I didnt question her any further. When I got to the dealership, I went over to service and they told me that the battery was under warranty (car's original warranty) and that the new battery was free of charge....(excuse the pun). So to make a long story short, if your car is under warranty the battery should be free and if you're looking into purchasing a new battery, a call to your dealerships parts dept could be cheaper than an aftermarket battery.

Yep, on the '03s, (some of them anyway), MINI sent out letters inviting the owners to drop by their dealership for a free new battery.

If it's under warranty, then I understand, but PLEASE, take it from one who knows, DO NOT return to South Motors. I drive from Kendal to Lauderdale MINI, and the drive is worth it for the service.
