Some attention for MINI's on another board I follow:
"The fastest BMW Mini Cooper ever was photographed recently at Germany's Nurburgring race track. It is a lowered, lightened version of the 200-hp Cooper S Works with upgraded suspension and was built to compete in the Nurburgring 24-hour endurance race.

The Super S is also a test car for next year's Cooper Challenge race series"

What's up with the "bonnet straps" ? Decorative stuff like that really does nothing for me on a car that's suppose to be a serious track contender.

I would be interested to know what JCW did to the suspension and why they didn't offer it as part of their kit (maybe due to the $8000 they'd try to charge for it if they did. ).

 

Maybe the bonnet straps are needed. They might have gutted all of the interior release mechanisms to hold the bonnet in place.

 

Interesting. I wonder how they setermined that that was the fastest BMW MINI in the world. As far as I'm concerned this is the fastest road racing MINI in the world.
