R50/53 Upgrade to 16" on MC Q...
I'm getting ready to order my first Mini (C). And, I think I'd like to upgrade to the 16" in part due to getting some wider tires, but also for looks. What doesn't make sense in the configurator is that the only choice available is the 5-spoke, and even those come with the run-flats (I'll have a spare). I think I'd rather have one of the lighter 16" factory wheels which I don't see as an option, and futhermore, I'd like just some all-seasons to start off with....
Do the dealers typically offer more to choose from than the online configurator?

Unless you want all the other options in the sport pkg, I say get the 15" holies with all seasons (free), then buy aftermarket lightweight wheels in 16". You can either use the holies for winter tires, for autocross or sell them. Not too many people have been happy with the heavy OEM wheels and run-flats.
To answer your question, I remember my MMA entering my options on a configurator just like the one we use, except he was logged in as a dealer. But talk to your dealer, they should be able to put any MINI wheel on that you like (but for big $$).

It's too bad...Those 5-spokes look quite nice. I just want to buy the car and have something that I'll be happy with for at least a year....even through the winter. Do you think they'd swap the run-flats for all-seasons even steven?
