>>Thats all Ive got for now..no word on the Orange. And Dave, Lori thinks its a definate possibility for the biege sport seats.
I have seen an orange Mini. Metalic. Looks like a copper top battery. Not one of my favorites.
As for Velvet red, it's too bad THAT didn't make it to the S. I might have bought one!

All of this exclusive color stuff is pure bull! EB shouldn't be just for an S...nor DS! Why should it be...because you paid a few more $ for a supercharger? Gimme a break and grow up! MINI.....that goes for you too....your role in this stupid exclusive color crud is repulsive. You have the technology to offer many more colors for both cars and switch them on the fly on your production line so quit encouraging this artificial exclusivity that you use in your manipulative marketing scheme. The same thing goes for your interior limitations....they are also nonsense.
I don't recall a clamoring from the MINI entusiasts to rid the landscape of SG or VR....just as I heard nary a sound from those same entusiasts about their longing for the Gold color. Oh....I forgot ....you really don't care what we think. You seem to only care about what YOU want us to think. I've heard a lot of wishing for a bright yellow....but your answer is an unpopular gold. You want us MINIholics to be a laid back-devil-may-care bunch of motorers but your actions are those of a narrow minded manipulative dictator. An S in PW is a great idea.....just as is an EB Cooper for a number of potential MINI owners...so why not both? A VR S would be ridiculous wouldn't it! Or would it? I enjoy seeing a hundred MINIs together at an event but I would enjoy seeing a lot more colors and combinations to really show our individuality.I've heard of one black Cooper with yellow racing stripes...THAT would never sell...no way...well...maybe just one!

Part of the reason I picked the Pepper White (aside from the fact that it looks so classy) is because it's NOT available on the S. But I guess if I ever decide to buy an S, I'll be happy to know that I can get it in PW.
>>Don't for get Orange and Light Blue next year

Funny Story- Let me preface this by saying I really like the gold color, so I guess there is no accounting for taste! Anyway, we had a club event yesterday. About 50 cars showed up. One of our newest members was there for their first MINI event. The wife (apparently she claimed the MINI as hers) was talking about what motivated her to buy the gold car with black stripes. She grinned and said “well, I’m such a Steelers fan that I thought it would be perfect!” Too bad another member pointed out that shade of gold with the black looked more like the New Orleans Saints colors!
>>I like the Orange. That Candy Blue (I think Paul Mullett from MINI2.com had said sometime ago that MINI had dropped plans to produce this color) is aweful!!!.
As of early June he said it was still on.

I'm not quite as incensed as you about the exclusive color situation, killerbee. There are all sorts of cosmetic cues that separate the Cooper S from the Cooper for no other reason than simply to do so - clear side light covers, that splotchy dash on the S, the grille, etc. The reality is that many people who buy the S are doing so just because they have to have the top of the line model, not because they need the extra horsepower or even know how to use it. They are specifically seeking exclusivity, so BMW is playing along. I know that Audi does the same with the S4, and there are M-only colors for BMW as well, right?
I'm much more offended by the $400-for-metallic-paint game.

chrisnl, I'm curious to see if JCW owners start having attitude with regular MCS owners, once someone in the states has one (and it will be very soon) I see the exclusivity game played out in other arenas, not just cars - some of the cameras I use, the manufacturer makes low production "boutique" models, some models only have certain finishes - and it's very apparent to other owners. Watches as well. Some will argue if you can't pay, don't play.
What if they made a Candy Apple Red JCW MCS special edition with the cool seats and 18" rims? I'm sure alot of people would want the color...but those who had that car would love knowing they were "special"
I'm happy with my IB/W MC, and the IB/W MC looks different from the MCS...fine with me.

I agree. But this game seems to be played by nearly every German automaker, not only BMW.
Although I like some of the metallic colors in the MINI, I much prefer the solid ones, cheaper and easier to paint for rock chip repairs. MINI needs to expand their solid color pallette from 4 to at least 6 to 7 solid colors.
