Little of both...bought the ShopVac as a third car and it will definitely not see any winter time. Fun to take out on weekends, but does well on my wife's 75 mile (round trip) commute or my 5 minute ride in.

Besides, a 30 MPG Cooper > a 17 MPG Jeep, right

I bought my MINI to be my car. Which means I will drive it to the Metro, to work, to the store, to play. Commuting is the most stressful, least fun driving. So, why not drive the MINI then and make it a happier commute. No, I am not one of those who hides the car as soon as a cloud shows up. I bought the car to use and use it I do.

I've had my car for 3.5 months and already added 14k miles to the odometer. Yeah... ... it's my daily driver! Lol! (And then some!)

Daily driver. The long way home along the river and lack of traffic allows me to unwind.

Mine is my all-the-time driver I enjoy driving the car whether I'm going 80 or 15.

I do care for it like it's a garage queen though, I must say.

My Mini replaced a dying Dodge Caravan. I primarily commute by motorcycle and intended to drive the Mini to work only when I had to take something too big to pack on the bike or if the weather was really bad. It's 8.7 miles each way, with 2/3 freeway. I'm now driving to work more because the car's almost as much fun as the bike, and there's something to be said for A/C...

Daily driver for me. I'm in the 60 miles a day to work and back. It's a great stress reliever after a long day at work!

I'm glad to learn there is an OCDer who also enjoys actually using her car.

Oh, of course! I've had it for *counts* 9 months and have almost 25k on it I LOVE driving it!

But I still like it to look nice. I wouldn't have to wash it nearly as often if I didn't drive it so much

Mine is my daily driver as well, and I just moved from a place with a garage to a place with no garage + lots of trees! So I foresee lots of washing in my future!

I love the fact that my MINI can make the daily trip to work fun - if only I was able to keep him as clean as those weekend cars...

Daily driver and weekend twisty slayer.

I'll third or fourth or fifth or whatever the recommendation of finding the long, twisty ways to and from work. My "normal" commute is pretty fun in the MINI - but I can extend it a bit and make most of it a BLAST. And I have a nice 1 hr weekday lunch drive I can take on my favorite local rural twisties - virtually ZERO traffic at lunch on weekdays on those back roads - everyone is at work or at school... grab a diet shake and a bottle of water outta the office fridge and run out to decompress... WONDERFUL.

Somehow I can't rationalize extending my commute of 1.5 miles / 5 minutes to something longer just for the drive. Must be Catholic guilt about polluting the environment or something... No, I'll have to move farther away from work to justify it.
