i have a 2004 MCS, 47k - i want to get all my little problems fix before i'm out of warranty and not thinking to buy the extended warranty.

I have some questions about MINI problems:

1. My car haven't done the MINI Inspection 1 - Is that inspection really important? is that FREE? and that inspection actually dues at 25k miles.

2. everytime i turn on the AC when the engine is cold, it smells. what's going on? do i need to change the air filter? how much does that cost?

3. what else do you guys think I should do before I run out of warranty?

I can only answer 2) a/c smells are somewhat normal, sometimes mold builds up inside the system - Mini dealer will disinfect (I think). To minimize smell, turn off the a/c and turn your vent fan to high about a mile before stopping. This brings the a/c condenser up to temp and evaporates any condensation there, minimizing musty smells and mold growth.
