temp gauge went to red zone...the air-con was flashing on and off.
i put the heat on full blast and managed to get home....

What is up?

 

There have been some issues with cooling fans quiting and also some coolant tanks leaking.Is this a S or Cooper?

it looks like the coolant tank is leaking.....

 

I had the same problem, they switched the coolant tank, but I was still having the problem, so they changed a circut, and then the actual fan. It works fine, it took them about an hour and a half. I noticed it at a light on a sort of hot day, my mini started to smoke from the bonnet, looked out my window, and saw coolant fluid on the ground.

 

well i hope they chaeck the fan and tank..**** me off though..they wont give me a rental becasue i am not 80 km from home..i catually made it home

 

so.. i have been reading in other threads..that even the new coolant bottles in the MCS are leaking....this isn't going to please me one bit if it happens more than once...i am three hours drive from the mini dealer...my mini was loaded on a flat deck truck today. At a cost to BMW (hmmm..B-roken M-ost W-eekends) of $600.00
one way. And besides that the cost of my rental car @ about $250.00 for the week.

Oh yes and get this..since i was able to limp back home with the car...and i am not 80 kms from HOME..roadside assistance will not cover me for the $500 for lodging /rental/what ever....But yet they have to toe the car 3 hours away from me and i am left with nothing. I toldthe lady at roadside assistance...so..what would you like me to do..drive a hundred km's out of the city ..even further away fro mthe dealership, just to make it worht YOUR while to have the tow truck drive out and get me drive me home..and then have me call you and then i can have you pay for my rental car....WAKE UP!!!...Frick...Thankfully i called the dealer that my car is being towed to and they said not to worry about the rental car...BMW canada will pay for it.....Hmm..some one with some sense. :evil:
