I BELIEVE some programmable features are the daytime running lights which can be programmed at the dealership..... and the remote key can be programmed to do different things (i.e. when you hold the button down you can have it open the windows/sunroof before you get in the car)

Thanks!

I had no idea.

I'll have to tell my husband. He picked up his Mini Cooper a few weeks ago and I'm sure he doesn't know about any of the features you've just described.

Thanks Again

Don't mention it! i'm just glad to help!

i'm pretty certain though that those programmable features can ONLY be programmed by the dealership! so it would be best to give em a call and find out more specifically! There may be more features that i'm not aware of!

If you have an owner's manual with the new Cooper, there's a section in there that talks about the different things you can program. If it's not all on one list, then you'll have to read through the whole thing - when you get to different areas, it'll tell you things that can be programmed like the day-time running lights, auto-locking doors, etc.

I asked the dealer about these features-- at least in Columbus, they don't yet have the software needed to progam the keys yet. I also asked to order a back up remote key, and he said to wait a month. He said that you can get a new key in about 5 days, but they won't be able to program any functions for about a month.

Hi
My husband stopped by the dealership yesterday to have the now infamous rear hatch rattle fixed. He asked about the programable features and the dealership told him they would have the software on 8/26/02 and can install it then.

Thanks again for your help!
