I am looking at an 04 MCS with 16,5k miles. It's in very good condition but I want to get to run the VIN at a dealer to get the history. Does anyone have a contact at a dealer that I can run this through?

Is it best to go to the dealer or can this be done over the phone? The closest dealers to me are Checkered Flag in VA Beach VA or Flow Mini in Winston-Salem- both are about 3 hours away.

MINIUSA won't give the history of the car, theft, ownership, accidents. You need to use a service like carfaqs.com for that

 

The dealers also have a key reader that tells them all sorts of things about the car such as VIN #, mileage, and top speed. They were able to tell what my top speed was during a recent track day.

 

Well no luck with "ask mini" I'll call around to some dealers to see if they might give me some history.
