Aloha,
I was wondering if anyone has heard when the MINI Coopers are finally going to be sold in Texas. I keep checking the official site, but nothing new. I've seen a few used ones in town. The BMW dealer up the road had a black and silver Cooper S for $29K!!! And I don't even think it had much on it. They new have the electric blue with the white roof, but I'm scared to even check the price. There have been a couple in the paper for about $22K.
Also, can anyone give me any advice on whether I should wait for the 2003 model? Any problems with the 2002s that'll probably be fixed by next year?
I'd really appreciate any info. Thanks.

Since no one else has jumped on this one, I will. No, I haven't heard anything about Texas dealers - but I think it'll be awhile because they have to still build the facilities and everything, right? If you're wanting one, I'd go to another dealer...but then you gotta consider the maintenance work on it. If you're near a border, maybe you're in a better position. Hey, that's an idea - if TX won't let them build, build a bunch on the state border!

As far as 2003 changes, think it's too late to get a 2002 - I know this because I'm probably getting one of the last ones Production on 2003s begin first week in September, so unless you get a production # of 8/30, I'm guessing it's 2003 - and yes, at this point, I'd wait, too...but my baby is on a boat on it's way here

Untill texas changes its laws about vehicle alotment, don't count on it... Texas has made it VERY hard for a company to make dealers set up a seperate dealership for it's cars... so unless the law changes, or BMW starts selling MINIs under the BMW name (or drops the seperate dealership requirment), i hate to inform you, but your probally sol...
