PDX MINI heads to the WMC Autocross - join the fun!
PDX MINI is joining the Willamette Motor Club this weekend for their autocross event, this weekend!:
Details on participation are below.
PDX MINI JOINS THE WILLAMETTE MOTOR CLUB – May, 21st, 2006: THAT’S THIS SUNDAY
Championship Performance Autocross Series
Have you ever wanted to test your car (and yourself) against the clock in a relatively safe, low-speed environment? Then autocrossing is for you. Cars run one at a time against the clock on a parking lot course marked by traffic cones. No previous experience is necessary; novices are welcome. All you need is a driver’s license, an automotive helmet and a car that can pass a basic mechanical safety inspection – they can even supply the helmet! Cars are run in classes against cars with similar performance. So you’ll run with cars similar in horsepower, engine displacement and overall size to your MINI.
Willamette Motor Club (www.wmclub.org) puts on several autocrosses a year in the Salem area. They will be holding an Autocross event May 21st at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. The Willamette Motor Club would love to have as many PDX MINI members come out to participate, watch and generally have a great time.
If you’ve never participated in an autocross, the MINI is the perfect car for the activity. However, the Willamette Motor Club is open to anyone, no matter what you drive. Certainly, some members have sports cars, but many others have pickup trucks and econoboxes. They are an equal opportunity club! All you need is an interest in things automotive.
Contact web@wmclub.org for info and participation instructions.
If you choose not to participate in the autocross, come anyway! Hang out and maybe get a ride with someone else.
