Soooo,

Here I am in Iraq and not a MINI in sight. After a few months of retraining at various bases in the states, we shipped out to a far-off base in the middle of the desert. I'm not even exaggerating, there isn't a thing but sand in all directions. It's fine with me, I've done this before. But, I would much rather be at home with the wife and the dog. I miss them a lot.

The good news is that the PDXMINI crew is a generous bunch of folks! If you're reading this and you are guilty of helping pack/finance care packages, a big THANK YOU!! I got a load of cool stuff a couple weeks back and it really brightened my day. I had to share some of it with the other soldiers, because I'm a nice guy. But, I kept the best stuff for me, because I'm not that nice! Ha! Everyone appreciated it.

I hope this finds you all well and enjoying the motoring season. I sit around thinking about MTTS, AMVIV and all the other "acronym" meets going on this year as well as all the awesome PDXMINI events I'm missing, and I think to myself, what a wonderful crowd of people. Who else has that much fun? Nobody, that's who.

I can't wait to get back.

Dan, Thanks for your service. As a Vietnam vet and a NG retiree, I truly do appreciate all that you and the rest of our troops are doing. Be sure to keep us posted on how you're doing. And may God keep you safe and bless you abundantly. Ray
