Where to go for new windshield in Hillsboro?

Hey everybody ,

I need a new windshield for my 02' Cooper, first time for "Drop".

Anybody know of anybody in the Hillsboro area?

Thanks,
Keith

You may want to call your insurance company if you have comprehensive coverage, that is if your deductable is less then the cost of replacement. I had my 2004 windshield replaced in 2005 and if it were not covered under warrenty it would have cost me something like $475.

The stress crack is a known issue and you may still be able to get it done under warrenty.

I got mine replaced at Rasmussen. I thought I was going to get it covered fromm warranty due to it being a "stress crack" which was an issue for certain models, but the BMW tech said it was from a rock.

it was about 420 bucks for glass, labor, and new covers. The A pillar covers I beleive are considered one-time use and should be replaced when the window is installed.

I had my insurance cover it, had to pay my $250 deductible.

I got a quote from Safelite and it was more than what Rasmussen wanted.

When I had my windshield replaced a year ago. Im pretty sure we went with Triumpth Auto Glass - we checked everywhere in town and they were the least expensive. It ended up being less than $300 for the rainsensor windshield. We didnt involve insurance, and the dealer just cost too much for my tastes. :P

What glass did they use, Icekid?

PPG? Pilkington? I'm curious.

I just picked up a rock induced crack on the way to AMVIV. I'm shopping.

Not sure of the glass used, I had just assumed it was OEM their part no was FW02305. Installed it came to $265, I dug out the invoice Aug 2006. If you need it, the phone listed was 866-638-6886, address: 14200 Se Mcloughlin Blvd Suite G.

So far no issues whatsoever with the glass, and ive had a few close calls that have left a minor pits. Good luck, I hope things are painless for yah
