Brake Pads
Brake Pads
I have been doing some research on front pads for "Gloria" and wanted to get some of your inputs. I need to replace the brakes soon, and because I want to stay "g-stock" compliant... I can only change the pads... not rotors, calipers etc.
Does anyone have experience with the Hawk HPS? Or the HPX?
Our car is 95% daily driver and 5% auto-cross, so I don't want anything too rediculous... and the pads will also have to work with stock rotors. Most of the NAM crowd talks about the HPS as being a good "dual purpose".
Also, what does a "high performance" brake fluid do for you? While I have the thing torn apart, do you all suggest I upgrade the fluid as well?
Thanks in advance

I am running the HPS pads and love them. Very good initial bite and very fade free.
Fluid change for an Auto-X car probably won't do much for you. Unless the car hasn't had a fluid change in the last 2 years, then it probably would be a good thing to do a full flush. Most will recommend the ATE fluids, the Blue and the Type 200. If you choose to do a flush start with the blue. It makes it real easy to tell when the old fluid is flushed out.
If you need to get the tools to do the flush, check out www.BavAuto.com for a good deal on a pressure-bleeder and a catch bottle along with a very good price on the fluid.
