So who's car did I buy?

Hi all!

I'm Matt, and up until today I didn't know nothin' about Minis besides the basics. I've spent the last week looking for a car after a spark plug ate my S2000 last week. Today I picked up a Silver/Black 05 S from Chaplin's in Bellevue.

Apparently it got traded in back in July. I didn't realize that it wasn't stock until i got it home... when my friend discovered the Alta V2 pulley, the cut where the intake used to be in the cowl, the stainless brake lines everywhere, and the fact that the seats that should have butt heat... didn't!

I'm pretty convinced this car is awesome so far... I just don't know how awesome. Does anyone here know who used to own my car? I just wanna know if there's anything waiting to explode on me, or if there's a tune on the car, etc. Just some history so I don't waste time or money!

WA plate was ADT3852, looks like the car spent it's first 30K in Germany, had two owners before me and I just picked it up at 70k. Anyone have any leads for me?

Thanks!

It was mine! I traded it in last July against a 2006 MCSa because my wife couldn't drive a manual.

All the usual necessary R53 specific maintenance work was done on it by Parker at Broadstroke Associates up in Snohomish (at around 60k). It has JCW brakes (with around 8k on them at the time of trade in). It also has new (colder) spark plugs and new ignition leads. It also has a K&N filter. The hole in the cowl is because I used to have a Dave F hybrid in it - but I removed it long before I traded in the car . . cos it was crap!! I suggest you don't bother with a CAI.

It doesn't have heated seats because I replaced the stock cloth interior with the leather seats (and arm rests).

The engine was good and strong - in fact it felt much more powerful to me than the engine in my 2006, which I now have all the same modifications made to!

I only had it for 18 months, having bought it from Magic Toyota in February 2011.

It does NOT have a tune (though I'm trying to get people together for a Jan tune here in Seattle in the next month or two if you're interested).

If you want me to send you all the maintenance records let me know (as I think I still have them).
